We all reach

We do what we can to try and reach that goal that shines before us like a firefly or maybe it is nothing more than a will o' the wisp come to lead us astray. Do we get led astray? I think we do all the time and we do not even know or realize it until we are nearing middle age and we wonder if we have waste our time with the things that we have been doing.

It makes no difference if we appear to be successful and have everything that we could ever possibly want. There is going to be some kind of crisis when we stop and try to validate our lives.

Impossible to reach

I am an optimist, at least that is what I think. I think that people would take my thoughts and words and find good in them. This is easy to see when you see things in a balanced way but sadly, this is not the case at all because people always want to take advantage of others in order to assuage their egos and give them a feeling of self-worth. This constant search for advantage is actually a barrier to progress because it blinds them to opportunities that stare them in the face. If it does not give them an advantage then they will not take it even though it is fair and balanced. It always has to be stacked in their favor. This is how people are.

It pains me but I have to learn to take it in stride. I used to think that sulking and withdrawing into my own shell was a good way to deal with these situations with these kinds of people but I have changed somewhat and I take everything with a grain of salt and look for another way to get cooperation. Not everyone can grasp a good thing as quickly as some other people and patience is often required.
